Cruise Ships return to Roatan with stranded workers

The good news is that Cruise Ships are now bringing Honduran workers home who have been stranded for months on their ships. It's strange to see big cruise ships returning to Roatan again after so long and we can't help but wonder how long it will be until not only cruise ships, but international travel from flights all over the world will return to the Bay Islands? There is about as much diversity of opinion as possible on when the island is going to open back up for international travel, some say as early as July or August, others November or December, some say not until 2021.

At this point, we don't think anyone really knows. We do know the Honduran government has plans for bringing all the family members stranded during the lockdown on the mainland back home to their families on Roatan, which is really great. They've been stranded for sixty some days! They'll be transported by Cruise Ships and quarantined at an undisclosed hotel for two weeks. If this works, the government will then bring back exPats who were caught away from their homes on Roatan. And maybe, if all that goes off without a hitch and the island gets proper testing in place, maybe the Bay Islands open back up sooner rather than later.

Honestly, we don't know what the right answer is, but when the Bay Islands do open back up again and allow tourism to resume, City Dogs will be right there, ready to serve our clients again with our premiere boutique sailing experiences.

We can't wait to get back out on the water with our friends again. Our small, private dynamic sailing adventure tours are just the antidote to being cooped up inside for months. Getting out under sail on the Caribbean sea, turning the engine off, hearing and feeling the power of the wind in our main and front sails, feeling the thrum of the 39' reinforced fibgerglass hull cutting through the eighty-degree sea is just amazing. You'll definitely see some fish, get visited by a pod of dolphins if you're lucky, maybe catch a tuna if you're luckier, maybe spear a lionfish or have a once in a lifetime SCUBA diving experience! Sure beats Sheltering in Place!

Oh, and there are dogs too. Little ones who like to cuddle.
